Nairobi National Park

Nairobi National Park

The Nairobi National Park is the oldest national park in Kenya. It is located right in front of Nairobi, the capital of Kenya. Making this park, the closest safari park to a capital and therefore the easiest park to reach. There are no elephants in the park because it is too small for them, but the other Big 4 are present. The chance of seeing a rhino is better than in most other parks.

In Nairobi National Park you can see the coexistence of humans and animals. The backdrop with the wild animals in the foreground and the city in the background are an extraordinary motive. On the other hand the mankind is spreading more and more and taking the animals habitat. In 2018 they started to built a railway through the national park. At least it is on stilts, nevertheless the question arises, whether it was necessarily to choose this route.

As a sign against poaching, a huge amount of confiscated ivory was burned in 1989 and can still be seen today as a memorial in the park.
